Mission Statement

Temple Har Shalom is an inclusive Reform Jewish congregation in the beautiful mountains of Park City, Utah. We welcome all Ohavei Yisrael (lovers of Judaism) to explore, experience, and connect to Jewish thought and religion.

Our Story

Temple Har Shalom began in 1995, when a group of local Jews decided that Park City needed a home for the Jewish community.  The congregation affiliated with the Reform Movement in 1999 and weekly Shabbat services began with the arrival of our first full-time rabbi in 2002.  Our remarkable building was dedicated in 2008, housing the vibrant Jewish life of our Temple.

Open Judaism

Temple Har Shalom warmly welcomes all who embrace Judaism as a part of their spiritual and communal journey. Whether you're deeply rooted in Jewish tradition or just beginning to explore, THS offers a supportive space to take the next steps in your spiritual adventure. As a Reform Jewish community, we celebrate diversity and inclusivity, guided by a rabbi who brings both a deep understanding of Reform and traditional Judaism. We also extend our arms to non-Jewish individuals, whether as members of Jewish families or those seeking to explore Judaism’s role in their lives. At THS, people of all sexual orientations and gender identities are embraced as part of our vibrant and welcoming spiritual family.

Spirituality, Learning, and Community

Temple Har Shalom is more than a spiritual center—it’s a vibrant hub for learning, connection, and celebration. We offer a dynamic array of programs, including a comprehensive PreK-10 religious school, engaging family activities, adult education opportunities, Shabbat and holy day services, a communal Passover Seder, Tots programs, and social events for all ages. Our services are informal, fostering active participation and featuring inspiring talks from our rabbi almost every week. Beyond our spiritual offerings, we take pride in serving as a community center, hosting private and public events, concerts, and life-cycle celebrations for members and non-members alike.
